Virals: Everton make ‘contact’ regarding Aaron Ramsey transfer

Everton have reportedly made ‘contact’ with Juventus over the possibility of signing midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The Toffees have been heavily linked with the 30-year-old in recent weeks as Rafa Benitez attempts to bolster the squad in the upcoming January transfer window.

Ramsey is out of favour in Turin and a mid-season departure would seemingly suit all parties.

Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale took to Twitter on Thursday (December 9) to claim that the Blues had reached out to the Serie A titleholders.

Di Natale stated that Everton had initiated contact in the ‘last few hours’ for the 71-cap ace but ‘other Premier League clubs’ are also keen.

So far this season Ramsey – who was hailed as ‘brilliant’ by Gary Lineker during the Euros – has made five appearances for Juventus.

Valued at £9million and under contract until 2023 (Transfermarkt), signing the Welshman would still represent an expensive outlay for the club.

However, at the right price, recent displays for Wales are proof that Ramsey still has plenty to offer at the top level and Everton would benefit from the capture.

Capable of playing in a variety of midfield roles, the ex-Arsenal man would add much-needed creativity to a midfield department somewhat lacking at times.
