- Racked up 21 goals and 9 assists in 58 total appearances for Celtic.
- Played a pivotal role in helping secure Celtic’s domestic double.
- Netted 16 of his goals directly in the Scottish Premiership.
Everton have been urged to launch a summer transfer raid for Celtic’s star forward Benjamin Nygren, with former Toffee’s winger, Anders Limpar, claiming that the Sweden international would be a “smart signing” for David Moyes.
Ahead of a crucial summer transfer window at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Limpar believes Nygren possesses the exact attributes needed to bring greater creative threat to the Toffees’ frontline.
Prolific form in Scotland
The versatile 24-year-old – who can operate centrally or on either wing – enjoyed an impressive campaign north of the border. Having arrived at Celtic for just £2 million from Danish side Nordsjaelland, Nygren racked up 21 goals and nine assists in 58 appearances.
He capped off his domestic campaign by assisting Kelechi Iheanacho in Celtic’s 3-1 Scottish Cup final victory over Dunfermline Athletic, securing a domestic double for the Hoops.

Anders Limpar gives transfer Blessing
Limpar, a key member of Everton’s 1995 FA Cup-winning side, insists the Swede is ready for the Premier League, as he recently told Betano Online Casino:
“He’s a versatile player, he comes in from the left with his right foot. He is tall. He knows the game. I do think Nygren can spread his wings and play for a Premier League club. He could do a great job at Everton. He’d be a smart signing.”
Champions League sacrifice
While a move to Hill Dickinson would mean sacrificing Champions League football with Celtic next season, Limpar has encouraged the forward to take the leap and move further south, adding, “If he wants to take that risk, I wish him all the luck. Why not give it a go?”
Nygren’s stock could rise even higher this summer, having been named in Graham Potter’s Sweden squad for the upcoming World Cup.
After Everton’s dismal end to the season, the onus is on the club to bounce back and recapture the form that saw them as European contenders for much of the campaign. A summer swoop for the prolific Celtic attacker could represent one part of the jigsaw.
