Williams praises Keane ahead of Turf Moor return

Ashley Williams has spoken to the media about his centre-back partner Michael Keane and has praised the youngster ahead of his return to Burnley, as per The Mirror.

The Toffees travel to Turf Moor for the early kick-off on Saturday at 12:30 and it will be Keane’s return to the Lancashire club where he grew into the player he is now.

He left Burnley for Merseyside in the last summer transfer window for £25m and has had a tough first few months at Goodison Park.

He has started to play better and has started eight of the last 10 Premier League games for the Toffees.

Experienced fellow Everton centre-back Ashley Williams has spoken about Keane and why it is great for him to be doing well again.

The Wales captain said in an interview (via The Mirror):

Michael has done well. He has had a run in the team. He plays for England and is obviously a top-quality player. I’m happy he’s doing well.

I thought Michael did really well against a tough Watford front three in our last game.

The 25-year-old was on loan at Burnley for the 2014-15 season, but transferred permanently from Manchester United and stayed there for two years, winning the Championship and surviving in the Premier League before the big money move to Everton.

He returns for the first time on Saturday, where he is not sure of the reception he will receive but will be focused on bringing three points back to Merseyside.
