Everton have reportedly opened talks over a move for Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe as Moyes continues to reshape his squad before the new Premier League season.
According to TEAMtalk’s Graeme Bailey, the Blues have made an early approach for the 23-year-old, although discussions are understood to be at an early stage.
Rowe came through Norwich City’s academy before establishing himself in the first team at Carrow Road. His pace, direct running and eye for goal earned him a move to Marseille and then to Serie A with Bologna, and his progress has not gone unnoticed.
Everton are expected to strengthen in the wide areas before the transfer window closes, with Moyes looking to add greater competition and attacking depth.
There is no suggestion that a deal is close, and Everton are unlikely to have a clear run at the former England Under-21 international, who has also been linked with interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.
Should talks progress, Everton would be signing a winger who has already shown he can make the step from academy football to the senior game, first at Norwich, then in Ligue 1, and now in Serie A.
For now, the club’s interest appears to be at an exploratory stage, but Rowe is the latest name to emerge as Everton continue their search for attacking reinforcements.
