Serie A sides join Everton in chase for free agent midfielder

Inter Milan have reportedly joined the race for Everton target Kwadwo Asamoah, who will be a free agent this summer.

The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Milan have jumped to the front of the the queue for the Ghanaian, despite initial interest from the Toffees.

Asamoah joined Juventus in 2012, but has seen his playing time limited due to extensive injuries and the form of Alex Sandro.

The player can play at left-back or in midfield, and his versatility has reportedly alerted Inter Milan and Udinese, with the former rumoured to have offered him a three year contract worth €3.5m a year.

Despite having made 23 appearances in all competitions this campaign, Asamoah is expected to leave Turin this summer, and could do so with his sixth Serie A crown, should Juve manage to hold off Napoli in the final few games.

Everton have endured a disappointing campaign this time around, but it is thought Sam Allardyce will be given a significant budget to improve the squad in the summer.
