Everton’s Davy Klaassen saga has taken another turn, with Turkish media reporting that the Dutchman could move to Besiktas this summer in a swap deal for Oğuzhan Özyakup
There have been a flurry of different takes on Klaassen’s long-term future on Merseyside in the last few days. Initially, the 25-year old came out and expressed his desire to make things work with Everton, that he wanted to stay and fight for his place.
Then yesterday, Turkish outlet Fanatik reported that Everton had offered Klaassen to Besiktas on a season-long loan, with Marcel Brands and the then yet to be announced Marco Silva looking to move the squad around this summer.

Today however, the story has again changed, with outlet Takvim claiming that Klaassen will move on a loan deal with an option to make it permanent, with talks beginning in the coming days. Takvim claim this is due to Besiktas needing to replace Anderson Talisca this summer, with Klaassen identified as their key target.
Fanatik however, lead with yet another story. They claim that Everton are still keen on signing Özyakup, and will use Klaassen to help that deal progress.
It previously seemed like Everton would sign Özyakup for free this summer with the former Arsenal man’s contract set to expire, although after he signed a new deal in order to protect Besiktas from losing money, he will now cost the Blues.
However he has a low release clause of around €12million, although instead of outright paying it, Fanatik claim Everton will offer Klaassen plus cash in order to get the deal over the line.
So many stories, so much rumour surrounding Everton £23.6million summer signing. As we’ve said before, it’s going to be a long silly season.
