Garbutt told to find a new club to ‘resurrect his career’

Luke Garbutt’s is expected to leave Everton this summer after manager Sam Allardyce said his career was over at the club, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Garbutt has been at the Toffees since he was 16, but other than a small run in the side in the 2014-15 season has struggled to establish himself at the club.

The 24-year-old still has two years remaining on his contract but manager Sam Allardyce has told him to find a new club:

He needs to be looking to move away from the football club and resurrect his career somewhere else because it’s not only me who hasn’t played him, it’s Ronald and, at the back end, Roberto.

The ex-England youth international signed a five-year deal following a string of fine performances when replacing an injured Leighton Baines, but hasn’t appeared for the club since.

Loans to Fulham in 2015 and Wigan last season have failed to lead on to a permanent offer coming in, but Allardyce said the left back’s agent was trying to get a move for his client:

His agent, in all fairness has been looking for a club for him for a period of time, even if it was on loan to re-establish himself but that hasn’t happened.

matchday.
