Everton’s Niasse a target for Cardiff City

Everton’s Oumar Niasse is reportedly a January transfer target for fellow Premier League side Cardiff City, according to HITC.

Cardiff are keen to bolster their attacking options as they look to secure their Premier League status for the 2019/20 season.

Niasse has fallen out-of-favour at Goodison Park and a potential move away from the club could suit all parties.

Niasse has failed to impress Everton boss Marco Silva and is believed to be keen on a move away from the Merseyside club in January.

The Senegal international joined the Toffees in February 2016 and spent the 2016/17 season on-loan at Hull City, for whom he also struggled to impress as he netted just four goals.

The forward has been left out of the match-day squad of 18 for the last 10 games and it is hard to see how he is going to work his way back into Silva’s plans.

It is believed that Cardiff would want Niasse on a loan deal until the end of the season, whereas Everton would be more keen on seeing the player leave on a permanent deal in January.

However, a loan deal with the option to buy at the end of the season may be an option for Cardiff.

Warnock currently has the choice of Gary Madine, Kenneth Zahore and Danny Ward up front for the Bluebirds, and Niasse would certainly be a step up on those current options.

matchday.
