Everton have had a fairly strong start to their latest Premier League season from a defensive point of view, as only four clubs have conceded fewer goals than the Toffees (12).
One figure in Frank Lampard’s side that hasn’t played much of a part in the campaign for Everton at the back is Yerry Mina.
After playing 70 minutes in the Merseyside club’s opening league game of the season against Chelsea, the centre-back has not been seen on the pitch since due to an ankle injury.
Looking back over his time with the Toffees, Mina has never been too far away from the medical department as numerous injury issues have impacted his playing time at the club.
In terms of his current situation at the club and what the future may hold for him, it appears as though one transfer insider has dropped a claim on the matter.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Dean Jones said: “You understand why this is on the cards at the moment, I think his representatives are looking at potential exit routes.”
Having made 92 appearances for Everton across all competitions after moving from Barcelona back in 2018, the defender has missed 28 games through injury since the start of last season alone.
Bearing in mind how the defensive duo of Conor Coady and James Tarkowski have been so pivotal for Lampard this season by making a combined total of 120 clearances between them in the league, it’s hard to see how Mina would get back in the starting XI when he eventually makes his recovery.
In terms of a potential move away from Goodison Park for Mina in the near future, the fact that he is Everton’s joint-highest earner with a weekly wage of £120k-per-week could make moving him out of the club a smart financial move for the Toffees.
