As one North-East club falls, another looks to stand up to the might of Everton.
Middlesbrough come to Goodison Park after a decent start to the season, with their most recent outing being their only blip as Pardew’s Palace won 2-1 at the Riverside. Other than that, Karanka has his side well-drilled and playing some decent Football. Negredo looks dangerous again, so that means he’s scoring tomorrow. They’ll probably throw out ex-Blue Adam Forshaw who’s made the step up to the Premier League very well.
Everton, in a similar vein to Middlesbrough, have probably exceeded expectations in the first few games of the new season as Koeman’s Blues have glided through 3 gritty teams in Stoke, Sunderland and West Brom, this after an impressive draw against Spurs on the opening day of the season. We also are the joint-best defensive team in the league, shockingly enough, so couple that with an electric attack and we’re sorted.
We should stuff Middlesbrough, there’s nothing to suggest that we won’t. But it’s still Everton, and we haven’t Everton’d a game this season so let’s not make it this week either.
Let’s look at who might line up for the Blues, and my Key Man for the week…
