Everton v Crystal Palace – Alex’s XI

It’s been a blissful week without Everton, and the abrupt return to Goodison is something that isn’t quite as nervy as it has been in the recent past. We’re coming off of a very good win away to Leicester and a win here would do wonders for setting up our season. That’s not so much an exaggeration as much as it would possibly propel us into 7th or 8th above Wolves (Did anyone else not realise Wolves had only lost one game this season?) with some not-so-hard home games coming up and players returning to fitness ready to help kick-start our season and see what we can do.

Those players coming back will give Mr. Marco Silva a real headache, which is only a good thing. James ‘The Forgotten Man’ McCarthy is back to fitness alongside the Barcelona enigmas’ Yerry Mina and André Gomes. With Idrissa Gana Gueye getting very comfortable in his defensive midfield spot and Tom Davies being very disappointing this campaign, the midfield battle for the two spots available are very much open.

So, with that in mind, as Marco Silva’s vessel on Read the Ev, I will make the decisions speaking for him.

matchday.
