Everton should stop messing around and make a move for Napoli’s Allan

Everton have once again been linked with a move to sign Napoli midfielder Allan in the summer, and the club should now have impetus and push a transfer through.

The Brazilian midfielder was frequently linked with the Blues throughout the January transfer window, and the paper talk hasn’t slowed down since it closed over a month and a half ago.

Now Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) are claiming that Carlo Ancelotti will return with another attempt to sign the 29-year old in the summer, having failed to land him in January.

The Toffees have been named as one of several clubs said to be keen, although Sport Witness rightly speculate that Everton could have an advantage, with Ancelotti having managed the midfielder at the San Paolo.

Given the frequency of reports that have claimed of Everton’s interest in the former Udinese man, it must be deduced at this point that Ancelotti is keen on a move, while Allan has previously been said to be keen on making the switch to Goodison Park.

If that is the case, then Everton should now put an end to the formalities and begin thrashing out terms, with all parties seemingly operating on the same wavelength.

Ancelotti is said to want a midfielder in the summer, with Fabian Delph and Morgan Schneiderlin having failed to impress, and his familiarity with Allan’s talents could see him slot into the Italian’s style without much of an adjustment period.

Everton have demonstrated their lack of speed in transfer proceedings on countless occasions in the past, and now could be an opportunity for Ancelotti, Marcel Brands and co. to stop messing around and get the job done.

matchday.
