Everton Predicted XI vs Chelsea (Carabao Cup, A)

Everton may be in the relegation zone and without a full-time manager, but there is certainly reason for optimism as they prepare to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

The dismissal of Ronald Koeman provides the squad with a fresh chance to prove themselves — initially to caretaker manager David Unsworth and then potentially to a new figure, if Unsworth himself doesn’t land the job on a full-time basis.

The last time Unsworth took interim charge of the Toffees, there was a real sense that he had galvanized the club, and he’ll be looking to bring that instant impact once more when he takes his side to Stamford Bridge to face Premier League champions Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

The midweek fixture could be a breath of fresh air as it takes Everton away from their perilous league position and the clash with Chelsea could be a real treat to watch if Unsworth gives his players attacking licence in the cup tie.

So who will the temporary boss select to face the Blues? Here’s our predicted starting eleven…

matchday.
