Everton Predicted XI: Monaco (N)

Maybe a more appropriate title would be ‘Predicted XI’s’ as it’s a pre-season affair, which spells change across the board.

However, Marco Silva has suggested that it is now time to take the games a bit more seriously, meaning more intensity, fewer changes and more cohesion.

His comments suggest that we may see a stronger mix of first-team players rather than Nathan Broadhead dotted with Morgan Schneiderlin across the half.

Don’t get me wrong, there isn’t anything wrong with using pre-season to test out some new options within the squad, but there comes a time when the first team must prepare for the season ahead, as it is edging ever closer.

There haven’t been many standout performers in pre-season so far. Broadhead and Bernard are the two who have impressed.

There has been more said about Everton’s slow start to the transfer window, however, most of the Premier League have been sparingly signing players so far, so I’m not worrying just yet.

We need four players though. A striker, right-back, central defender and attacking midfielder.

While we do still need some more additions,  we have the best squad outside the top six undebatably.

Here’s what I expect to see from Silva on Friday:

matchday.
