Everton player ratings: Newcastle (H)

The first half was a whole lot of Everton. Despite Newcastle taking the lead early on through a quick break, not once did they look like they would hold on to that slim margin. From the off, Richarlison, André Gomes, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cenk Tosun dominated Newcastle.

What was the most impressive part about the first 45 is that, while we were superior in absolutely every aspect of the game, we were not content with just large amounts of the ball and every player actively looked forward for the ball.

André Gomes once again stole the show as he made the midfield his own.

However it ended up being a very frustrating second half as we failed to kick on, even with possession figures hovering around 78% for large parts of it. Sigurdsson was taken off in a very odd substitution and that confined us to a point at best, with no creativity amongst the front 4 present.

It happens, see you all again on Monday

Love from, Alex.

matchday.
