Everton in negotiations to sign Bony

Everton are in negotiations to bring Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony to Goodison Park, claim Voetbal International.

A fee of £25.6million is thought to be enough to prise the Ivorian away from the Etihad stadium.

The 27-year-old has found himself surplus to requirements under new boss Pep Guardiola and hasn’t been included in Manchester City’s Champions League squad for this season, with a move deep in negotiations.

Last season Bony scored just four goals in 26 games in the Premier League, though, he did score four goals in nine appearances in the Champions League, before his side crashed out to Real Madrid.

Bony began his career in England after moving to Swansea City in 2013, where he spent a year-and-a-half, scoring 26 in 54 league appearances.

With it looking likely Oumar Niasse will be leaving on loan, and the future of Arouna Kone uncertain, signing Bony would be to strengthen the forward line, rather than replace Romelu Lukaku.

It was thought Bony would be included in a deal to see John Stones join Manchester City this transfer window, however, the 23-year-old joined The Citizens this morning for a fee of £47.5million.

matchday.
