Everton enquire for Pellegrini

Everton have reportedly made a move for outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, according to Super Deporte.

The former Real Madrid and Villarreal manager is to be replaced by Pep Guardiola at the end of the season and is said to be considering his options in English football.

The Chilean has been  linked with the Goodison Park outfit prior to the latest inquiry as well as newly managerless Valencia and Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg, who will part ways with manager André Villas-Boas at the end of the season.

Everton’s under-fire manager Roberto Martinez’s future at Everton is looking increasingly uncertain and Pellegrini’s wealth of managerial experience will certainly attract the attention of a club like Everton, who are looking to drastically improve their league performance.

Pellegrini will also be attracted to a team that is bursting with potential and will want to keep star performers such as Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku at the club if he is appointed manager.

While tenuous links are being made to former Chelsea manager José Mourinho, Pellegrini looks a more likely candidate to take over at the Toffees if Roberto Martinez happens to lose his job.
