Everton 2-1 Lincoln City – Everton Player Ratings

Starting off strong and falling off the subsequent cliff has been a staple of Marco Silva’s Everton. Even against Lincoln City, today was no different as we went ahead 2-0 very quickly and looked to be coasting until Lincoln ramped the pressure up and, once again, we conceded from a fairly routine set piece. We struggled then to get a foothold at all for the rest of the first half. Tom Davies struggled, Ademola Lookman started well and faded out of the game, Kurt Zouma looked shaky, and Idrissa Gueye showed just how awful his ability on the ball truly is.

There isn’t much to add for the second half either, as we were similarly shaky but Lincoln tired themselves out and couldn’t quite break us down. They probably deserved more from the game, as Everton were once again entirely off the boil. If we had come up against a Premier League side, there is no doubt we would’ve been torn apart today.

matchday.
