Everton 1-3 Manchester City – Everton Player Ratings

I think all of that game went exactly to script.

Not our script, but a script.

City started somewhat slowly and for the large portion of the first 20 minutes, the Blues were dominant. But it’s all well and goodd dominating the ball at the top sides for small parts of the game only to completely fold after one silly error, which Yerry Mina graciously provided to Leroy Sane, who made no mistake in sliding through Gabriel Jesus to ensure the three points for City, as we were never going to get anything from the game when we went a goal down.

Not that we even gave it a go, as there was plenty of meaningless ‘play it from the back’ sequences that just resulted in City getting the ball back higher up the pitch than they would have if we had hit it long to DCL; who really shouldn’t have been playing if that wasn’t the plan.

After the restart, Mr Silva changed the plan and DCL had himself an excellent second period, putting his name into the hat to lead the line permanently.

Anyway, it was a game. I don’t particularly care to give it any more attention, to be honest. We’re in a horrid run of form and Mr Silva needs to earn his money before Spurs visit Goodison next Sunday.

matchday.
