Manchester United 2-1 Everton – Everton Player Ratings

Unfortunately, as soon as United had netted their first, the game was well and truly wrapped up. For all the positivity surrounding the club now, and deservedly so, we can’t do anything away from home and that shows absolutely no signs of changing under Marco Silva as of yet.

That’s not something to get too down about, however, and I’m looking forward to getting back to Goodison as much as always, but away trips to the top six need to be written off for the foreseeable future. Whether it be an underdog attitude that still plagues the club or whether we just get unlucky; although I’d say getting this unlucky for this long is a questionable theory at best.

Not to be wholly negative however, as that needs to be left in the dust of last season along with all of the other baggage, as there were some very encouraging signs, such as our willingness to really get at United early on, but in saying that, there isn’t much joy in exciting signs when we lose once again away from home.

The story of the game is quite simply that our defensive players still seem shellshocked whenever they show up at a Sky 6 ground, no matter what form may suggest, and that needs to change very quickly.

matchday.
