Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace – Everton Player Ratings

A frustrating 90 minutes, but one that shouldn’t cause Everton Twitter to collectively hit the panic button (Yes, I do know that is absolutely futile because it’s already been jammed over and over).

The first game of the season is always a tone setter regardless of whether it actually should be or not, and the Blues are playing to a muted tone after the first outing of the 2019/20 season at Selhurst Park.

There were some positives, mainly Coleman and Bernard looking very sharp indeed, but there were also some worrying signs. Mr Silva, I assume, is hoping that the introduction of Alex Iwobi will solve our creativity problems because beyond goalscoring, that is the real issue. We need to create chances for Moise Kean and Richarlison to get on the end of before we can start worrying what they will do with them.

On the other side of the ball… God Bless Jordan Pickford.

matchday.
