Everton full back Seamus Coleman is set to miss out on Wednesday’s Merseyside derby at Anfield and is a serious doubt for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final.
The Ireland international limped out of Everton’s 1-1 draw at Goodison Park against Southampton on Saturday with a suspected hamstring injury – a problem which usually keeps players out for a minimum of two weeks.
Speaking to the media after the fixture as reported by the Liverpool Echo, Roberto Martinez confirmed that the disappointment will see Coleman miss out on Wednesday’s game at Anfield.

He felt his hamstring and we will assess him in the morning but it will be hard to see him being involved this week as that sort of injury takes longer than a week.
With both Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines already out with injury, Martinez will now have a difficult time of it with so many key fixtures ahead and his job currently under so much scrutiny, after a disappointing domestic campaign.

Everton will look to win their first trophy in 21 years when they visit Wembley this weekend to take on Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United.
