Allardyce future in the balance after not being backed

Sam Allardyce’s future as Everton manager has come under an even bigger cloud of uncertainty after Farhad Moshiri failed to back him publicly.

Allardyce and Director of Football Steve Walsh yesterday went and met with the majority shareholder in London after the manager called for clarity over his future.

Last week the club sent a survey via email to season ticket holders asking them to rate his suitability to lead the club, with the incident clearly upsetting Allardyce who felt it disrespected him.

The Mail Online reports that at the conclusion of these talks, it was decided Allardyce would not be backed, meaning his future now looks bleak.

The Englishman took charge of the Toffees back in December after their poor start to the season, leading them to eighth in the table.

However, his style of football has been criticised and the fans have failed to take to him, making it more likely that Everton will look to replace him with Marco Silva or Paulo Fonseca next season.

Walsh’s future is also uncertain after he led a recruitment drive of over £200 million over a year, with most of the signings proving to have failed, as shown by the sacking of Ronald Koeman in October following the disastrous beginning to what was meant to be a successful season.
