The 29-year-old originally travelled to Middlesbrough earlier this week for talks but returned to Merseyside without putting pen to paper on a deal and as such, Villa saw an opportunity to make a late bid to take him for the season.
Steve Bruce has a knack of being able to convince players to reject moves elsewhere to join Villa and it looks like he’s done the same with Bolasie, despite the Everton man’s close relationship with Tony Pulis.
Bolasie’s original plan was to stay and fight for a place at Everton but it’s clear that he is not in Marco Silva’s plans and as such, he is prepared to go on loan to the Championship in order to secure regular first-team football at Villa will be his destination.
Having passed a medical, Bolasie is expected to be named as a Villa player later today.
