Everton’s hunt for a new manager has been going on for some time now, and they have been knocked back once again in their pursuit to secure a boss.
According to an exclusive report from Goal, the Toffees made an enquiry to Wolverhampton Wanderers over the possibility of discussing a deal with manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
However, high-flying Championship side Wolves were quick to respond, and denied Everton permission to speak to their promising young manager.
It’s believed that the ex-Porto boss is keen to stay at Wolves regardless of Everton’s interest though, having enjoyed such a bright start to life in England with the club.
Nuno has got Wolves playing some superb football this season, and appears to be setting them well on their way to promotion to the Premier League.
Everton have been without a manager since October following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman. David Unsworth has been in caretaker charge since.
The Toffees have reportedly been knocked back in their approach for Watford boss Marco Silva, too, as the club’s managerial shortlist continues to shorten.
