Raul Meireles
Raul Meireles has been linked with a move to Everton, according to reports.
Meireles, who is a former Liverpool midfielder, has been placed on the transfer list at current club Fenerbahce as the Turkish giants look to revamp their squad.
The Portuguese international would cost Everton around £3 million.
Meireles signed for Liverpool from Porto in 2010 but only spent one season at Anfield before moving to Chelsea. He spent one year at Stamford Bridge before moving to Fenerbahce for £10 million in 2013.
The 32-year-old may not be most welcomed by the Goodison Park faithful due to his affiliation with their city rivals.
However the midfielder has experience of playing in the Premier League and did win the Champions League and FA Cup during his time with Chelsea.
John Guidetti
Elsewhere, Everton are just one of a trio of Premier League clubs interested in signing striker John Guidetti on a free, according to reports.
Guidetti, 23, was on loan at Celtic last season from Manchester City. His contract at the Etihad stadium expires this summer.
The striker scored 15 goals in all competitions for the Scottish champions last campaign.
The Toffees are in a race with both Watford and Norwich City in securing Guidetti’s services next season.
The striker revealed he didn’t fancy a permanent move to Celtic after he felt the Bhoys don’t play enough big games to get him international recognition.
His most prolific season came when he spent a year at Feyernoord, finding the net 20 times in 23 appearances.
The Swede has struggled though to find game time in England. He has only ever managed a single league cup appearance for parent club Manchester City in the seven years he has been on their books. He also struggled on loan at Stoke City in 2014.
Everton’s interest in the striker perhaps indicates that the future of Romelu Lukaku is still in doubt after the striker claimed he should be playing in the Champions League and winning league titles earlier this week.
Scott Dann
Finally, today’s Daily Mirror leads with the story that Crystal Palace’s defensive stalwart Scott Dann is keen on a move to Goodison Park.
The imposing 28-year-old scouser was named Palace’s Player of the Year after impressing at the heart of the Eagles’ defence, but is said to favour a move back to his hometown.
It remains to be seen if Dann is indeed the player that Roberto Martinez wants to replace the outgoing Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz, although the Blues are definitely in the market for a centre-half this summer, and have already been linked with Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk and Jonny Evans of Manchester United in recent weeks.
Dann is a fan favourite at Selhurst Park and would command a fee in the region of £8-10 million pounds, if reports are to be believed. With Palace unlikely to sanction the departure of one of their key players to a Premier League rival, file this one in the ‘unlikely’ category.
