West Ham are interested in signing Everton’s out-of-favour midfielder James McCarthy, report the Daily Mail.
The 28-year-old is not considered part of Marco Silva’s plans at Goodison Park, failing to make a single appearance so far this season.
A broken leg last January curtailed McCarthy’s progress hugely, but he is back fit again.
The Republic of Ireland international has 18 months remaining on his current Everton contract, so the Blues may feel now is the time to cash in on him.

West Ham are not the only club showing an interest, with Fulham and West Brom also thought to be monitoring the situation.
McCarthy arrived at Everton as a highly-rated youngster in 2013, joining from Wigan Athletic.
He has managed 132 appearances in total, scoring six times, but his influence has diminished as time has passed.
There would be a risk element in West Ham signing McCarthy, given the severity of his recent injury, but he remains a talented player who could thrive if he stays fit.
