Everton stumbled to a 1-1 draw against Watford this afternoon, a point that sees the Blues drop to 14th only two points above 16th placed Crystal Palace.
James McCarthy put Everton ahead on the stroke of half-time but it only took a matter of minutes for Watford to be level, Jose Holebas heading in at the back post from a poorly defended corner. It took 85 minutes for the Blues to finally get into gear and even then it was far too late to make an impact, Lukaku spurning two chances would spell the end of an uninspiring performance.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Most Evertonian’s were dreaming of better after Roberto Martinez’s first season but instead all they have found is pain and suffering. The Toffees are the only team that would be fighting towards the bottom half of the table in the most open Premier League in years.
Everton will now face Crystal Palace, Southampton and Liverpool before their FA Cup semi-final at the end of the month.
