Everton striker Cenk Tosun is set to return to Besiktas in January on a free transfer after a summer move broke down, according to Fotospor.

The Sam Allardyce-era signing has a deal that runs until June 2022 but the club were reportedly considering sanctioning a free transfer for the 30-year-old poacher.
However, Tosun wished to continue his rehabilitation with Everton until November ahead of a possible January move.
According to Goodison News, Tosun earns £3 million a year whereas an early Besiktas move would only pay £1.3 million annually, making an Everton stay more financially viable from the player’s perspective.
He underwent knee surgery in April following an injury sustained at Besiktas on loan last season and looks set to remain a Toffee for the foreseeable future.
In a similarly injury-plagued loan spell to Premier League side Crystal Palace in the 2019/20 season, Tosun showed initial promise before a severe injury curtailed his progress.

Having sanctioned the loan move of Moise Kean back to former club Juventus, the club brought in ex-Newcastle and West Brom hitman Salomon Rondon to deputise for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The duo of target men surely hold primacy in the mind of Rafa Benitez. Calvert-Lewin has started every Premier League game under the new tactician, whilst Benitez holds a close personal relationship with Rondon.
