Matias Vecino is “very happy” at Inter Milan amid Everton interest, according to the midfielder’s agent, as reported by MilanNews.
Everton have been heavily linked with the Uruguay international this past week, with Corriere dello Sport (cited by Sempre Inter) first covering the story that detailed Everton’s interest, and their willingness to make an “important” offer to sign the 28-year old.
Tancredi Palmeri then claimed that the Blues have been in contact with the Nerazzurri over a potential deal for Vecino, although the journalist didn’t provide any more information than that.

Now however, we have more information from Alessandro Lucci, agent of the Inter midfielder, who has dismissed exit talks for his client.
MilanNews report that Lucci recently attended a meeting at Inter’s headquarters, which had been speculated to be about Vecino’s future away from the San Siro, with the Toffees are seemingly ready and willing to take him to the Premier League.
However Lucci, talking to MilanNews, claimed that his discussions had nothing to do with Vecino, and that the Uruguayan is happy where he is currently. Lucci said:
We have not talked about the future of Vecino.
Matias is very happy at Inter.
When asked specifically about whether AC Milan fans could expect to see Vecino sign for them, Lucci said:
These are all scenarios that come out in the media. There is nothing and he is very happy at Inter.
However this might not be the end of the situation surrounding Vecino’s future, with Inter possibly needing to raise funds in order to sanction offers for both Olivier Giroud and Christian Eriksen, which could see the midfielder find himself on the chopping block in order to loosen the purse strings for the Nerazzurri.
Read Everton Verdict
While Vecino may be ‘happy’ to remain with the Nerazzurri, he could still be on the move if MilanNews are to be believed, as Inter could yet decide to sell him in order to finance their offers to Chelsea and Tottenham for Giroud and Eriksen respectively.
In any occasion, Vecino being happy with Inter doesn’t mean that he couldn’t also be interested in a Premier League switch, and with Everton having made contact according to Tancredti Palmeri, Everton fans will have to wait and see how this situation pans out.
Vecino has played an important role in Antonio Conte’s side this season, having played in 14 of Inter’s 19 Serie A games (WhoScored), however with Correire dello Sport (via Calciomercato) claiming that Inter are willing to sacrifice him for Eriksen, he could soon be on the move.
