Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is a loan target for Everton, according to the Liverpool Echo’s Phil Kirkbride.
Januzaj, 20, featured just 21 times for Louis van Gaal’s side last season, and is believed to be keen to secure a temporary move away from the Old Trafford club.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez is a known admirer of the gifted Belgian international, who nearly moved to Merseyside back in January. However, reports in today’s Daily Express stating that a transfer is imminent are likely to be wide of the mark, with the Goodison Park club prioritising a new central defender and creative midfielder in the coming months.
Currently, Everton have a wealth of options in wide areas, with Mirallas, new signing Gerard Deulofeu, Steven Pienaar and Aiden McGeady set to fight it out for starting berths in Martinez’s usual 4-2-3-1 formation.
As it stands, any deal for Januzaj may depend on the future of countryman Kevin Mirallas- as the 27-year-old Everton attacker is the subject of interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and AS Monaco- and whether the Blues decide to move for former loanee Aaron Lennon during the window.
