Tosun says Walcott is a massive signing for Everton

Everton today completed the signing of forward Theo Walcott from Arsenal for £20 million – a move which fellow January signing Cenk Tosun was very pleased with, as reported by Sky Sports.

Walcott will join up with his teammates tomorrow ahead of the weekend’s game against West Brom.

Tosun seemingly can’t wait for the opportunity to play alongside the England international at their new club in the coming months.

Everton have shown great intent through bringing both Tosun and Walcott into the club this month as they look to improve in their attacking areas after largely struggling of late.

Tosun spoke about the player joining the club this month and discussed what he expects the former Arsenal man to bring to the party.

Theo is a great player. He’s a proven player and has done well for Arsenal for many years. I would say it’d be a massive signing for us.

I think I would link up well with him. We already have very talented players in our team and I’m sure if we sign him he would have a great input.

Tosun also spoke about his transfer fee after his £27 million move from Turkey.

It doesn’t put a lot of pressure on me to be honest, it’s actually a great honour. I would like to become a good role model to the other players in Turkey.

There are some great players in Turkey but it’s difficult to make the breakthrough so I would like to open the door for them.
