Cenk Tosun has confirmed that he has received an offer from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, although it doesn’t appear that the Turkey international will accept the move this month.
Tosun’s future on Merseyside has been unclear for some time now, with the former Besiktas man having slipped behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in the pecking order as the Toffees’ sole striker last season.
Now with the signing of Juventus’ rising star Moise Kean, Tosun is even further from first-team football at Goodison Park, and according to various reports throughout the summer, Everton are open to selling the £27million signing.

German reports from earlier this week had claimed that Frankfurt were looking to bring Tosun back to the club, with the 28-year old having graduated from the Hesse club’s academy.
However, Tosun spoke to German media outlet Wiesbadener Kurier (via Liverpool Echo Live Blog) to confirm that he wants to focus on himself before he makes another major career decision. The towering Turk said:
First I want to cure my knee injury and I feel good in Everton.
This would indicate that Tosun will likely remain put on Merseyside, although Frankfurt have the means to tempt the forward should they wish to do so. The German club have money to burn this summer, having sold forward duo Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller to Real Madrid and West Ham respectively for a combined total of £100million.

I’m not quite sure where my feelings lie when it comes to Cenk Tosun and his future with Everton. In the past, Everton have suffered through a lack of depth in the forward department, so I wouldn’t necessarily be keen for the club to push to sell the striker.
However, if Tosun wants to play regular football, I’m not sure if he’ll find that opportunity with Everton. He won’t uproot DCL or Moise Kean, at least not unless he drastically improves, which is hard to do without minutes on the pitch.
Tosun is a very different player to the two aforementioned young forwards, and it could be beneficial for the club to keep an additional option among their ranks. Assuming Oumar Niasse is set to depart, keeping Tosun would leave the Toffees with three senior strikers, which would also benefit Richarlison in that he would remain in his best position for the club.
