As speculation continues to mount around Kevin Mirallas’ future at Goodison Park, we take a look at five of the Belgian’s greatest goals in a Everton shirt.
5) EFC v West Ham United, Upton Park, 14th January 2015
“Brilliant! Brilliant! Kevin Mirallas!” the words of commentator Ian Darke after Mirallas equalised with a superb free kick from an acute angle to draw the Toffees level in their FA Cup match at West Ham.
4) EFC v Tottenham Hotspur, White Hart Lane, 30th November 2014
When Ryan Mason’s clearing header from an Everton corner fell to Mirallas on the edge of the box, he turned inside and released a curling effort straight into the top right hand corner, out of the reach of the outstretched Hugo Lloris.
3) EFC v Tottenham Hotspur, White Hart Lane, 7th April 2013
18 months earlier, Mirallas scored another great goal at White Hart Lane. He ran with the ball from the halfway line, cutting in from the right. He beat three Spurs defenders before firing the ball into the far corner to give Everton the lead in the match.
2) EFC V Aston Villa, Goodison Park, 1st February 2014
Another free kick, but from further out and even more accurate. The Belgian whipped the ball over the wall and into the top corner from 25 yards to seal all 3 points for the Toffees.
1) EFC V Stoke City, Goodison Park, 30th March 2013
This in my opinion was his best goal in an Everton shirt. After receiving the ball well into his own half, Mirallas turned at went up the gears. He soared past Steven N’Zonzi on the halfway line, before turning the last Stoke defender inside out and finishing with a low shot into the corner. A great solo effort.
