Fikayo Tomori’s proposed loan move to join Everton from Chelsea reportedly fell through at the 11th hour, according to fresh reports.
Tomori was heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park after impressing on loan at Derby County last season.
However, according to Football Insider, as cited on Derbyshire Live, David Luiz’s late move to Arsenal meant the Blues were not willing to let him leave.

This is a bit of a kick in the teeth for Marco Silva’s side, espically as they missed out on a deal through no fault of their own.
Tomori is one of the most highly-rated young defenders in the Premier League and looks ready for the step up after his spell at Derby County.
He was recently handed his Premier League debut by Frank Lampard at Chelsea, a testament to how highly he is rated by those behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.

At Chelsea, he now has a genuine opportunity to push for a regular first-team spot. It’s something he may not have been guranteed at Goodison Park, so from his personal point of view, this may have worked out for the best.
However, Everton have missed out on a very talented young defender who would have added some great strength in depth to their squad this season.
