Everton have scouted Millwall goalkeeper Jordan Archer on numerous occasions but they face competition from Swansea and Southampton, according to HITC Sport.
Despite being released from Tottenham at the end of the last season, a string of impressive performances in League One with the Lions has seen a number of sides send scouts to compile a detailed report.
The reports says that Championship clubs are monitoring the former Wycombe loanee’s progress – although they remain unnamed.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez could see the 22-year-old as a long-term replacement for veteran shot-stopper Tim Howard, who is coming to end of his decorated career.
All three of the named sides – Everton, Swansea and Southampton – are considering a January move for Archer, who has accumulated just 44 Football League appearances in his career and has never featured in the top flight.
The Scotland U21 international has kept seven clean sheets in his 15 starts for Millwall this term.
