Former France international Thierry Henry has had his say on a potential merry-go-round of managers concerning former Everton bosses.
Ronald Koeman, who is under fire again at Barcelona following a 3-0 Champions League humbling against Benfica, replaced Roberto Martinez at Everton in 2016.
However, Martinez – who currently manages the Belgium men’s national team – has since been linked with usurping the Dutchman’s job at the Nou Camp in a twist of fate.
Henry is an assistant to Martinez with the Belgian squad and boasts experience of working closely with the Spanish tactician and issued his verdict on where Martinez and his focus will be.
Henry painted a portrait of Martinez as a resolute professional whose main focus is on the upcoming fixtures internationally – not one who is concerned with speculation over his future.
Henry told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (29/09/21, 10:05 pm) that he knows that the only thing his colleague is pre-occupied with is the upcoming international fixtures for Belgium [via HITC].
“Well, first and foremost, only the boss can talk about that,” said Henry. “He’s from there, as you know.
“But, right now, he’s also the coach of Belgium national team and we have to prepare for the game against France.
“So, I know that is the only thing he is thinking of, right now.”

Many Everton fans may issue wry smiles at the potential of Martinez having the last laugh over his potential replacement at Barcelona.
Indeed, Koeman and his spell at Goodison Park was short lived when he was sacked just a year later after overseeing the Toffees nosediving into the relegation zone.
His acrimonious departure may render any Barcelona exit as a moment of schadenfreude for Everton fans.
