According to the BBC, Everton are the front runners to secure a loan move for Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala.
City announced the signing of Aymeric Laporte on Tuesday from La Liga side Atletico Bilbao, in what was a club record fee, a move which is set to knock Mangala further down the pecking order at the Etihad.
It is believed that fellow Premier League sides West Ham and Newcastle United both enquired about the defender’s situation, however, it looks like Goodison Park will be the French international’s destination if he is to leave Manchester today, with talks underway between the two parties.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce hinted at his desire for a left back this month, however, looks set to secure the services of Mangala for the rest of the season.
The Toffees are confident of securing the loan signing before the 11pm deadline, with Mangala set to give Michael Keane, Ashley Williams, Phil Jagielka and Mason Holgate competition at the heart of the defence.
