Marco Silva has claimed that it is too early to talk about a potential January move for Kurt Zouma, although he wouldn’t rule it out.
We covered the story yesterday that Chelsea’s supposed interest in Monaco starlet Benoit Badiashile could see Kurt Zouma move further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, potentially motivating him to leave.
Zouma, who is valued at £22.5m by transfermarkt, hasn’t started the Blues’ last three Premier League games, with Fikayo Tomori having usurped him following some good performances at the back for Chelsea.

Everton wanted to bring Zouma back to Everton in the summer but Silva and Marcel Brands couldn’t convince Chelsea to sell, but now it appears more likely to happen than before.
Speaking in his pre-Burnley press conference (via Liverpool Echo), when asked about whether Everton could reignite interest and go back in for the Frenchman in January, Silva said:
It’s too far for us to talk about these possible situations over what will happen or not in January.
We have to keep full focus on our players, what we are doing to improve and keep improving as a team, this is the main thing for us.
When the window opens again you can talk about the situation but in this moment we are fully focused on our players and always focused on the next game and nothing more than that.

Well that is a typical Silva response. Zouma could well be his prime target, or he could be off the radar entirely, but Silva likes to keep his cards to his chest.
Hopefully the Everton boss goes back in for the defender. I really liked Zouma last season, I thought he had a great impact for the club, and I think he’d excel if he came back to Merseyside. Certainly the fans would appreciate him more at Goodison Park, for sure.
He’s talented, and he has room to grow. It is a deal that just makes perfect sense for all parties, so fingers crossed.
