Marco Silva has confirmed that Andre Gomes will definitely miss facing Manchester City at Goodison Park later today.
Reports from Wednesday claimed that Everton would give Gomes every opportunity to be fit to face the Cityzens if possible, however Silva has confirmed he will miss the fixture.
The Portugal international has missed the last the Toffees’ last two Premier League games, and will join JP Gbamin on the sidelines as the only other major injury.
Talking in his pre-match press conference, Silva revealed that he still isn’t sure about when Gomes could return to action. When asked if there were any fresh injury concerns, Silva said:
Still the same until now. Just JP Gbamin and Andre Gomes, they will be out.
Andre is still not working fully with his teammates, let’s hope in the next few days we have some more news about him.

It’ll be really interesting to see which line-up Marco Silva decides to go with against City. Many fans will be calling for Tom Davies to come back in again, while Morgan Schneiderlin would be a better defensive option.
I personally hope Silva is brave and decides to go all out for three points. While most Everton fans will know that City’s success could be beneficial in seeing Liverpool lose out in the title race, the club must focus on what is important to them first.
Not only do Everton need points to climb further up the table, but they also desperately need the confidence boost, with a win likely to be stabilising for the time being.
