England international and Manchester United midfielder Wayne Rooney is open to a move back to boyhood club Everton in the summer, according to Goal.com.
The 31-year-old, who joined Manchester United in the summer of 2004 for a fee of £25m, has grown frustrated with his game time under manager Jose Mourinho this season, and is reportedly ready to take a pay-cut to join Everton this summer.
It is reported that the Toffees contacted Jose Mourinho about loaning the England international for the rest of the current season back in January, however no deal happened between both clubs.

Before joining Manchester United in the summer of 2004, the midfielder, who then was just 16,made 67 appearances for the Toffees in all competitions, scoring a total of 15 goals before his big transfer to Manchester United.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman is a big admirer of the 31-year-old, with the dutchman saying;
He still has two or three years in front of him to play at the highest level.
“What will happen at the end of the season, I do not know? In my opinion he’s one of the players who can make Everton stronger than they are now.”
