Everton manager Ronald Koeman has hit out at at those criticising his ambitions at Everton after the Dutchman admitted that his targets were the same as last season, as reported in the Liverpool Echo.
Koeman angrily hit back at those who were suggesting that the club should be aiming to compete for a top four position.
He said:
I know what we are and the way we are going about trying to be successful. It’s ridiculous to put a lot of pressure on the team by saying we need to finish by the top four teams.

The Merseyside club ended a run of six consecutive defeats on Wednesday against Sunderland in the Carabao Cup and Koeman is hoping that the win will boost his players’ confidence.
He continued:
Everybody signed new players and we signed young players – yesterday we played with six or seven players aged 19-22 – that’s the future, they need time and that’s normal. That doesn’t mean that we don’t have ambition. If there is one person in football who has a lot of ambition then he’s on this table but I’m realistic and in football being a realist is sometimes difficult.
The Blues linger in the relegation zone of the Premier League but host Bournemouth on Saturday where they will hope to move out of the bottom three.
