Everton have confirmed the appointment of Ronald Koeman as manager who joins from Southampton on a three-year-deal.
The former Valencia and PSV man joined the Saints in June 2014 and guided them to a 7th placed finish in his first season. The manager then had to rebuild as his squad began to crumble with several big first team players leaving including Morgan Schneiderlin, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers all leaving the club.
The Dutchman managed to rebuild and guided the club to an improved 6th place this season, competing with the likes of West Ham and Manchester United to finish in the Europa League spots.
Koeman’s achievements impressed the Blues majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, who made the manager his priority and was willing to make him one of the most well-paid bosses in the Premier League.

The club held talks with Ronald after he returned from his end of season holiday and positive developments led to both parties agreeing on a deal. Everton then had to agree a compensation package for his services, thought to be around £3.5m.
Koeman will now have to decide who leaves the club and who comes in as many players face being axed ahead of next season, with players like John Stones and Romelu Lukaku also looking to leave the club.
It is thought that Koeman will be provided with a £100million transfer budget in an attempt to rebuild the club and take the club back towards the top of the table next season.
