According to the Liverpool Echo, Roma are set to offer Kevin Strootman a new contract amid interest from Everton.
The Blues were keen on signing Strootman in the summer transfer window, with Everton likely to make another move for the midfielder in January.
Roma have taken note of this and are moving swiftly to tie Strootman down to a new deal in order to ward off interest from Everton.

The Italian giants are set to offer the Dutchman an extension of one or two years, which would see him stay in Rome until 2020/2021.
Ronald Koeman is a big fan of the midfielder and will be hoping that he can still push a deal through in the winter window. Although, a new Roma deal for Strootman would kill off any potential deal for the Toffees.
Strootman has had a solid start to life in the Serie A this season, playing nine games and scoring twice.
