Everton are to hold further talks with Watford this month as they to resolve the dispute over Marco Silva.
The Hornets made an official complaint to the Premier League in November, where they claimed Everton had illegally tapped up Silva to become recently sacked Ronald Koeman’s successor.
Watford refused to let Everton speak to their manager and two months later, the club sacked the Portuguese coach after a dramatic dip in form, citing Everton as the principle reason with the Toffees having supposedly turned his head.

Having sacked Sam Allardyce following the 2017/18 season coming to a close, Everton appointed Silva as his successor on Thursday, despite Watford still not having received the compensation that they believe they are entitled to.
The Premier League is eager for the two sides to resolve the issue, and have scheduled a second mediation meeting for the two parties later this month to hopefully put the issue to bed.
However, both clubs are currently refusing to budge from their current stance, and the league may be forced to hold an arbitration meeting to settle the matter.

Watford believe that with Everton having announced Silva as their manager, their own case has been strengthened. Everton meanwhile are sticking by their guns, claiming they have done nothing illegal or wrong and have only acted according to the rules.
While Watford haven’t yet outlined how much they are expecting Everton to pay, it is sure to be less than the £9million they were offered for Silva’s services back in November.
While there is no immediate resolution is sight, both clubs will be hoping to move past the issue as soon as possible. Not only so that they can be vindicated, but also so that they can just get on with their own business.
