It had been reported in the past few days that Roberto Martinez was keen to tie the Costa Rican down past his current deal which expires this summer while the player himself admitted he would like to stay at the club for the foreseeable future.
The defender has put in a string of impressive performances in recent weeks, keeping veteran Leighton Baines out of the side as the Englishman returns from injury.
The left-back will now be hoping to nail down a spot for the foreseeable future as he looks to get as much first team football as possible. Oviedo has struggled throughout his Everton career with injury, so the player will be hoping that there are no such recurrences throughout the rest of his time at Everton.
Speaking on his new deal, Bryan explained:
This is a special club, and, for me a second home
The Costa Rican international also took to twitter to express his feelings over the new deal:
The best decision of my life was coming to Everton 💙 pic.twitter.com/mbhfxd0rwI
