Everton’s 6-2 victory over Sunderland came at a cost as stand-in left back Bryan Oviedo picked up a hamstring injury midway through the first half.

According to the clubs official website, the 25 year old Costa Rican will have his hamstring assessed, to see if he will be fit in time for this weekend’s trip to West Ham.
This could be another potential blow for Oviedo as he suffered a dramatic leg break against Stevenage last year and the last thing he needs is another prolonged spell on the sideline. Oviedo is a cult hero at Goodison Park following his goal away at Manchester United two seasons ago which propelled Everton to victory, so there is no doubt that Everton would like to have the player back at full fitness as quick as possible.

Oviedo was replaced by young Englishman Brendan Galloway who once again put in a stellar display. If the former Copenhagen star is to be out for a stretch, at least Everton know they have able players to fill his boots.
