After the final whistle of the FA Cup blew on Saturday, the domestic season was drawn to a close. It’s been a somewhat unremarkable season on behalf of the Blues, but stability is a welcome return after chaos. After all, strong and stable things are all the rage nowadays, nice for Everton to join in.
But in all seriousness, we enjoyed a solid season under Koeman. It was a largely transitional season, as the air of Martínez was well and truly cast out and a ruthless atmosphere took its place. Koeman wasn’t afraid to criticise, and in Ross Barkley’s case, destroy a player who is way out of bounds. We saw it with early subs, squad selections and press conferences that Ronald Koeman was not scared to rock the boat.
It was a season in which stars came through the ranks and current superstars are likely to wave goodbye to Goodison. We saw real ambition in January with the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin, and it’s just the beginning.
We have Europe next season, and we have a good summer ahead.
But what are the best moments of this season? We at Read Everton have each picked our choice, what are yours?
