Everton forward Oumar Niasse has been arrested on suspicion of assault, according to the Mirror.
The Senegalese striker, who has just started just twice for his new club since moving from Lokomotiv Moscow in January, was arrested and questioned by police on Friday morning.
Greater Manchester Police issued a statement, saying:
At 12.55am on Friday 13 May 2016, police in Salford were called to an address following a report of an assault.
Officers attended and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and was taken into police custody for questioning. He has been bailed until 27 May 2016 pending further enquiries.
Niasse became Everton’s third most expensive player in their history when he signed for £13.5million on deadline day in January but has failed to make an impression during his time in England.

The versatile attacker has struggled for fitness since arriving on Merseyside and is still an unknown quantity to most Evertonians, who have seen little of the former Brann hitman.
Former Toffees boss Roberto Martinez said it would be a ‘bonus’ if his recruit played any significant part for the Blues this season, and Everton have issued a statement following the 26-year-old’s arrest:
The Club condemns unreservedly any form of abuse. In this case, we understand an investigation is underway to establish the facts.
It’s not known if Niasse will be involved in Everton’s final game of the season against Norwich on Sunday.
