Newly-promoted Newcastle United are among a host of Premier League clubs to have enquired about Valencia centre-back Aymen Abdennour, who is also a target for Everton, according to Foot Mercato, as claimed by GFFN.
Everton have placed Abdennour among their list of summer transfer targets, however they are also pursuing Burnely’s in-demand central defender Michael Keane, who has been linked with a return to Manchester United.
The Tunisian international is also on French side Olympique Marseille’s wishlist, as the Ligue 1 outfit look to solve their defensive problems. It is reported that the player’s representatives have held several meetings with Marseille’s Sporting Director Andoni Zubizarreta, but any deal is far from being finalised.
Valencia are holding out for around £15 million, with this valuation being acceptable for the club to part company with the player.
Abdennour played 13 times for Valencia last season, which was a disappointing one for Los Che Els Taronges, who finished 12th in La Liga.
